2nd Chance

In mathematics, a squared number is called a perfect square, as it exponentially increases the value of the numbers involved. And so it is with the Church. We believe in connecting international churches with the local church in Asia - to powerfully multiply and advance each others' unique vision and mission. Partnering together, we can see Asia transformed!

The church in Asia is growing at an unprecedented rate. It has been estimated that 10,000 people come to Christ every day in China alone. Reports continue to circulate of miraculous occurrences and the phenomenal increase of indigenous churches in places such as Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia and India. Asia is part of the solution to the final frontier in global missions.

But there is still much to be done: approximately 4 billion desperately needy people in Asia live without the knowledge of Christ's love for them. Buddhism, Islam and other Eastern religions are on the rise. People in parts of Asia are amongst the worlds' poorest, living from day to day without hope for a better future. In addition, Christians in many Asian countries suffer oppression and persecution from religious extremists and governments. Pastors and church leaders face an uphill battle just to look after their people, let alone spread the Gospel. Large parts of the Asian church do not have the capacity to finance or train people to work in the unreached areas of their region. Church leaders, pastors and potential missions workers need training, resources, mentoring and discipleship. They need our prayers for protection and effective impact.

Asian Outreach has a long history of spiritual development work in Asia, with a portfolio that includes working with pivotal house churches - pioneering in the most challenging areas, often in places others will not go. Our key focuses are on developing local leaders, training local church planters and producing essential literature and resources. Because of our rich history, we have proven connections with over 6,145 churches in Asia. Together with Asian Outreach, you can have an eternal impact in Asia, through collaborative partnerships and sharing resources, prayer and support.

Approximately 1 billion Muslims live in Asia, accounting for around 61.9% of the global Muslim population

Hinduism accounts for approximately 1 billion Asians, mostly in India

It is estimated that there are over 300,000,000 Buddhists in the world today most of whom live in Asia

Today Christians are being oppressed, tortured, imprisoned or killed in countries such as India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, Bangladesh, North Korea and China

Partnering to See the Church in Asia Reach Its Full Potential:

Part 1

Sustainable Church Planting: Sustainably supporting church planters to effectively bring the message of Christ to those who need to hear.

We seek to help local church planters provide for themselves through small business start-ups or livelihood projects that bring value to the communities they are reaching out to. The Vietnamese church planters we work with, for example, provide services in their local communities such as auto repair shops, food retail, or brick factories to help support themselves while they minister to people’s needs.

Over 16,200 church planters launched and 2,700 churches planted in the last 10 years through Asian Outreach programs.

Part 2

Leadership Training:Developing leaders and church planters to successfully operate in holistic ministries, who will help to shape Asia's future.

Learning and growing are essential components to successful ministry. We develop young leaders who will bring a mature, balanced message to their people, and who are able to train the next generation to do the same. Our approach depends on the needs of our local workers: in China we facilitate theological training for underground church leaders, whereas in Pakistan, we teach about church planting and missions.

13,500 church leaders have been trained in areas such as theology, pastoral care, church planting and worship.

Part 3

Relevant Literature and Resources: Providing Christian materials and Bibles in the local language to equip the local church to reach their community.

Asian Outreach has a rich heritage in printing materials in local languages. We partner with the local church to assess and meet their needs. The local churches often financially invest in the project as well, such as in Bhutan, where the churches have taken the responsibility for half the printing costs of Bibles in the local language. Materials printed include evangelism, training and personal growth resources.

Almost 450,000 copies of Christian literature have been printed and distributed in local languages over the last 7 years.

Transformational Church Partnerships: Matching the vision and mission of international churches with those in Asia for powerful transformation.

The foundation of Church2 is the matching of churches in partnership for the gospel. Our focus is understanding the heart and vision of international churches, so that we can facilitate a good match with a frontline ministry that has a similar heart. We see this as a driving principle for every aspect of Church2.
