This successful CIDA-funded initiative has been in operation since 1996. Over 4,000 students have successfully participated in Asian Outreach’s Mongolia Literacy Program.
Our vision is to give access to free education for underprivileged, illiterate children that may have dropped out of school due to financial constraints or learning disabilities.
Boys and girls will be educated in special classes that adhere to the Mongolian national curriculum and they will be integrated into mainstream classes for physical education, art and music.
Through local partnerships with government institutions and World Vision Mongolia we are providing school supplies, clothing and nutritional meals for all students including the establishment of health and life skills classes. Seminars for parents and staff that focus on the special needs of these students will also be conducted.
Upon completion, all children enrolled in the program will have an enhanced ability to successfully complete the national academic exams and re-enter the mainstream school system.
