Stars of Hope
Asia - home to 64% of the world’s population and yet over 80,000 people die each day in Asia without ever hearing the name of Jesus. These pioneering coworkers, these “bright stars”, literally put their lives on the line every day and travel to many unreached and dangerous places to share the good news of Christ and plant churches. We can’t go where they go, but we can partner with them.
The story of a star
Jordy is a young woman from Indonesia. Shehas been called by God to preach the gospelto her people in some of the darkest, mostremote places of Kalimantan, where most areunreached and many are practising witchcraft. Jordy has been threatened with stoning byvillage chiefs and other local people, but shehas seen God move in a powerful way. In Sabu, in just over one year, 80 people fromone village were baptised, three new churcheswere planted and a village congregation grew to 200.
There are still many millions more who don’t know Jesus in most parts of Indonesia, butthere are thousands more like Jordy all overAsia who are obeying God’s call and are willingto shine His light in the darkness. They need our partnership through prayer and finances.
About the Stars
The stars are small, plush cloth objects made by residents of Lvea Em, a poor rural region in Cambodia with over 60% of the population living under $0.44USD/day. This situation can be attributed, among other factors, to a lack of skilled employment opportunities available to the working age population. These handicrafts are unique to this region and this program utilizes a profitsharing method. The sale of these stars directly profits workers andtheir families as well as the men, women and children who benefit from health and education projects funded by a portion of the profits.
During the Christmas seaon, we invite you support our "bright stars" in 2 main ways.
1. Prayer - Our bright stars are ministering in spiritually oppressive areas. They need our spiritual covering. Join our prayer network.
2. Partner with our Co-workers - Our "bright stars" have medical and physical needs, as they have to tavel to remote, disease infested parts of their countries and are constantly exposed to illness and persecution. Donate to our frontline co-workers
